National Numeracy has a new chair

David Frost CBE takes over from the charity’s founding chair Chris Humphries CBE, who is stepping down for personal and family reasons but will remain on the board.

David is a former director-general of the British Chambers of Commerce and has a wealth of experience in the employment and skills field. He chairs the National Network of Local Enterprise Partnerships and the National Centre for Entrepreneurship in Education. He is also chairman of the volunteering charity, Vinspired, and of Take Charge, which seeks to bring coherence to enterprise education in schools, and is an ambassador for the Studio Schools Trust.

David Frost said:

"I am excited to be taking on this role at a crucial time. Now the economy is growing strongly, it’s vital that opportunities for employment are able to be offered to all. Those who struggle with numeracy will be disadvantaged as jobs are created. As a country we must do more to improve numeracy and I am pleased to be able to build on the achievements of Chris Humphries as we prepare for the launch of the National Numeracy Challenge."
