Count on Your Community
Schools! Workplaces! Community groups! We need YOU!
The theme for National Numeracy Day this year is 'Count on Your Community'.
You are not alone when it comes to improving your numeracy. Millions of people across the UK lack confidence when it comes to numbers. But that can change and a bit of mutual encouragement and support from your community can make a world of difference.
On Wednesday 20 May 2026, join thousands of communities for a Big Number Natter to build brighter futures for all through number know-how.
National Numeracy Day is the UK’s only campaign dedicated to improving everyday maths. Each May, individuals, schools and organisations across the country come together to help children and adults feel more confident with numbers at work, at home and at school.
The campaign raises awareness of the importance of numeracy and signposts free tools and resources that help people take practical steps to improve. To get resources for schools or adults, sign up and join in.
Still can't picture it? Check out #NationalNumeracyDay on Instagram so see what happened last year. Or check out our Impact Report to see what happened.
This year our Number Heroes drawing competition returns with a brilliant brand-new theme: How do people use numbers in your neighbourhood, club or community?
We’re inviting children aged 3–13, as well as all children and young people in receipt of SEN support or an EHCP, to take part. It’s free to enter, packed with fantastic prizes for pupils and schools, and a brilliant way to spark conversations about how numbers matter in the world around us.
Join us on the 20 May for a live lesson from Times Tables Rock Stars and Rotimi Merriman-Johnson, aka Mr MoneyJar!
Starting at 09:30 on 20 May (and available on demand afterwards) Times Tables Rock Stars will be hosting a fun national game of ‘Would You Rather’ for primary schools, exploring savvy spending and how we make money choices in our families and communities. The lesson will be around 15 minutes long.
