This session doesn't teach maths. Instead it aims to build confidence and show you the resources available to support you to improve your money management skills.

What is this workshop about?

Low confidence with numbers can stem from bad experiences with maths at school. By working with thousands of adult learners we've shown that even the most anxious learners can improve their skills.

This interactive workshop aims to help you change your mindset and move away from thinking “I hate maths, I won’t do it,” towards thinking “I will give it a go.”

It runs for one hour and includes short activities designed to get you talking about your feelings towards maths and address the myths that may be holding you back. It also focuses on why we need maths for money management, and how more confidence with numbers can ultimately help our finances.

This is the first time this session will be open to the public. It's free to attend and there are only around 25 places so sign up soon to attend at 4pm on 23 Nov on Zoom.

*Please note that if you sign up to the session we may email you a follow up survey to see how you found it.

Here Ben outlines our approach to building confidence with numbers, and gives you an idea of what to expect in the workshop.

Who we are

We are National Numeracy, a charity set up in 2012 to raise the levels of numeracy in the UK among both adults and children. The Government's 2011 Skills for Life report found that 49% of adults in the UK have the numeracy expected of primary school children, we want to change this. Our online Challenge is a free, confidential way for adults to test and improve their numeracy.
