With your support, we can help communities feel more confident with numbers across the UK.
Introduction
You're among the first to sign up for National Numeracy Day 2026, so here some early access resources. On this page you'll find sections for adult facing organisations and for schools.
Use this information and these materials to start building number confidence where you are or preparing for National Numeracy Day.
Organisations and those helping other adults
We all have different experiences of maths, and sometimes these can put us off numbers as an adult. But Maryam here is just one example of how things can turn around.
One of the most powerful ways to build number confidence in those who don't have it, is to get them talking about their experiences with maths. This opens up an opportunity to rebuild that relationship.
To guild you in the best way to start this conversation we've developed the Big Number Natter. You can do it anytime or save it for National Numeracy Day.
You can also use the National Numeracy Challenge in your community, its a free and simple way for adults to start improving numeracy skills online.

Try the National Numeracy Challenge
However you feel about maths, you’re not alone. The National Numeracy Challenge is a free and easy-to-use website you or your team can use to improve confidence with numbers, in your own time and at your own pace.
It’s ideal for brushing up, checking your level, or for catching up on learning you missed, and it’s all about the maths you need in daily life and at work – no algebra or trigonometry.
Welcome Teachers and School Staff
We want to give you everything you need to help staff, parents/carers and pupils to feel more confident with numbers as part of National Numeracy Day.
