Help us improve social mobility by building numeracy skills this May

1 Feb 2022

By Sam Sims, CEO  National Numeracy

The first of February isn’t traditionally the start of spring, unless you work at National Numeracy. Our flagship campaign, National Numeracy Day, might be a few months away, but it is bursting into life as plans for getting the nation talking about numbers this May are finalised. Could you partner with us to become a Lead Supporter this year?

Our award-winning campaign has inspired over 190,000 actions to improve numeracy over the past four years, tackling social mobility and unlocking life-changing opportunities for adults and children.

This year’s campaign is particularly relevant to where we find ourselves as a nation. We are witnessing a growing recognition of the fundamental importance of numeracy in helping individuals and communities better cope with increasing uncertainty and change. From adapting to new job markets to making the family budget stretch further in the face of the increased cost of living and energy bill hikes, never has there been a better time to support improving numeracy.

There is increased momentum and resolve too; for instance with the government’s commitment to  nationwide numeracy scheme ‘Multiply’, slated for a spring launch.

A wide range of passionate, pioneering organisations are responding by partnering with us to help ignite action towards improving numeracy this spring. Watch this space for upcoming announcements of our new partnerships!

Could you join us, and Founding Supporter KPMG UK, as a Lead Supporter for National Numeracy Day?

Have a look at the prospective lead supporters page, and please get in touch to help make our 5th National Numeracy Day change as many lives as possible.

My advice to anyone else who wants to improve their numeracy would be to tackle it as a team. Honestly, maths has never been so fun!”
