Volunteer of the Month: February 2026

12 Mar 2026

By Sally Weatherall, Volunteering Programme Manager

We’re now halfway through the Spring term and have been delighted to see our volunteers visiting schools across the UK, from Yorkshire to Wrexham, Nottingham and London.

They’ve been delivering inspiring My Maths Story assemblies, sharing with primary pupils how they use numbers in their careers and everyday lives. Alongside this, they have been supporting our Maths in the Real World classroom sessions.

Volunteer Andrew Duff delivering an assembly

Congratulations to Andrew Duff, Partner at EY, who is our Volunteer of the Month for February 2026!

Andrew visited Riverside Primary in Rotherhithe, London to deliver his My Maths Story Assembly to Key Stage 2 children, and support two classroom sessions. He told them all about how he uses numbers to cook, carry out DIY and fly as a private pilot!

Andrew said, "It was a pleasure to spend the morning with the children at Riverside Primary School to discuss the important role of maths in everyday life. The children were a delight to spend time with, interested, engaged and very welcoming."

EY joined National Numeracy as a valued corporate supporter in 2024 bringing a shared commitment to making a lasting difference in communities across the UK. EY has championed our volunteering programme in primary schools and through their support for our nationwide campaigns, helping children and adults alike build confidence with numbers.

Well done Andrew! Thank you for taking the time to volunteer and for your continued support! We are looking forward to a busy schedule of visits in the next few weeks.
