We’re pleased to announce that our first Volunteer of the Month for 2024 is Joe Baguley, Software Engineer at Capital One.

Joe took part in our volunteer training in October, shadowed another volunteer’s assembly in November, and in January went on to deliver his own My Maths Story assembly and support two Maths in the Real World class sessions at Brocklewood Primary School in Nottingham.

Joe said of his experience:

“I think the assembly went well, it was well organised and I think the slide template was great. The classroom sessions went really well too.”

James Harper, class teacher and school maths lead at Brocklewood Primary School, agreed, saying:

“The My Maths Story assembly was great and the two classes really enjoyed the Maths in the Real World sessions.”

Well done to Joe and thank you to all the volunteers who have visited schools in January.
