We’re pleased to announce that our Volunteer of the Month for March goes jointly to Isabella Gallinelli and Rens Roodzant, both Investor Relations Analysts at Kartesia.

Isabella and Rens first visited St Paul’s with St Michael’s Primary in Hackney in February to support the Maths in Real World class session with Year 5 and 6, it was so successful that they were invited back to support the same session with Year 3 and 4 in March.

Cairo Spencer, Deputy Head teacher at St Paul’s with St Michael’s Primary School said:

“The class sessions were excellent and very well received by staff and pupils. The children were enthused by meeting people from a professional background and were eager to ask lots of questions. The link with hobbies was a good way for children to see maths beyond school too. The main activity was well pitched and gave room for lots of open-ended discussion about maths in the real world.”

As a Lead Supporter of National Numeracy Day and member of our corporate volunteering programme, Kartesia are supporting children and adults across the UK to understand and work with numbers in day-to-day life. Our partnership is based on a shared belief that everyone deserves to fulfil their potential, whether that’s at work, home or at school – together we’re sparking better opportunities and brighter futures.

Well done to Isabella and Rens and thank you to all the volunteers who visited schools in March. Volunteers from our corporate partners visited ten schools in London and Corby, delivering seven My Maths Story assemblies and thirteen Maths in the Real World class sessions to over 1,100 children.
