National Numeracy's parental engagement programme aims to support schools in developing their parental engagement strategies, in order to improve the confidence of both children and parents/carers in maths, and to help parents build a positive relationship with their children's learning.
Participating schools receive a package of support, including:
Family Maths scrapbooks and activities for all pupils
Staff training and support from a parental engagement expert
Becoming a Numeracy Champion training for school champions working with parents
Termly cluster meetings with other participating schools, led by National Numeracy
Access to the National Numeracy Challenge website for all staff and parents
One workshop offered to parents to explore their own attitudes around maths and support them in helping their children build positive attitudes to maths
Materials to communicate with parents about the project (eg. template letters home, social media posts etc)
