London schools: Apply now to be part of our new parental engagement project!

23 Sep 2020

National Numeracy has recently received funding from John Lyon’s Charity to deliver a project around parental engagement in maths, and we are currently recruiting primary schools to get involved.

The project aims to improve the confidence of both children and parents/carers in maths, and to help parents build a positive relationship with their children’s learning.

Centred around our Family Maths Toolkit and National Numeracy Challenge resources, this project will run from autumn 2020 across three academic years.

Each participating school will receive a package of support, including:

  • Family Maths scrapbooks and activities for all pupils*
  • Two cluster meetings & remote support from a parental engagement expert
  • Access to the National Numeracy Challenge website for all staff and parents (with campaign materials to communicate about this to parents)
  • One workshop offered to parents to explore their own attitudes around maths and support them in helping their children build positive attitudes to maths

Applications are open to primary schools in any of the following London boroughs (if you are located in another London borough, please get in contact as other opportunities may be available):

  • Barnet
  • Brent
  • Camden
  • Ealing
  • Hammersmith & Fulham

To apply for one of the three places, contact us today at [email protected] by the 9th October 2020.

*Participating schools will be asked to contribute towards the cost of the Family Maths resources, but otherwise the package of support content is provided free of charge.
