We’re pleased to recognise David Ellis, Head of Card Channel Development, at Vanquis Banking Group as our Number Confidence Week November Volunteer of the Month.
David visited Arundel Church of England Primary School in West Sussex to deliver our ‘My Maths Story’ assembly and support our ‘Maths in the Real World’ class session. In keeping with our Number Confidence Week ‘Money Matters’ theme David spoke to the children about how many adults use credit cards, how popular different coloured cards are and how cards work on phones and watches.
David said: "A lovely way to spend a morning where I think all involved, staff, students, teachers, assistants and myself learnt something. The class session really resonated and excited the children … they were really lovely and engaging with fantastic questions. A credit to the school."
Andrew Simpson, Headteacher of Arundel Church of England Primary School said, "The assembly was awesome, with great use of video. Please can we have the same speaker next year!"
Since 2018, Vanquis Banking Group has been an important strategic partner of National Numeracy, passionately helping to build numeracy skills and opportunities for communities across the North West, and throughout the UK. As a lead supporter of Number Confidence Week, our partnership has a special focus on supporting children’s numeracy and showcasing the benefits of improved numeracy for managing money.
Well done to David, and big thank you to all the volunteers who visited schools as part of our Number Confidence Week campaign.
