To supercharge EY's Giving Week, we spoke to current and potential new volunteers at EYs London office, it was wonderful to hear such enthusiasm to inspire children to see the value of maths in the real world.
Feedback and impact from our network of EY corporate volunteers included:
"It made me feel happy and gave me confidence in presentations (which I haven't done for a while!)"
"It felt good that the children were engaged, the teacher was very pleased, they find external guests can stimulate the children. They are trying to get the children think about their ambition and types of jobs they aspire to, the assembly linked quite well to this strategic initiative for the school. I was pleased about that."
"I really enjoyed my afternoon and I was really impressed with the children, their questions and answers"
"I felt appreciated (lots of rounds of applause!) and I felt I made a difference - as a parent and a governor I know that external visitors are exciting for children so feel I contributed to them experiencing something different"
"I really do think I could see them having that light bulb moment of 'oh THAT's maths!'"
EY joined National Numeracy as a corporate supporter in 2024
With a commitment to creating a positive long-term impact in communities across the UK, EY has supported our inspiring volunteering programme in primary schools and driven impact through our national campaigns. EY's efforts are helping to boost efforts to improve numeracy for equality and social mobility across the country and raising awareness of financial well-being and education through their activities as a National Numeracy Day 2025 Lead Supporter. A huge thank you from National Numeracy.
