What’s happening for Number Confidence Week 2026?

21 Oct 2026

Number Confidence Week is almost here and we’ve got plenty to help everyone get started with getting on better with numbers.

This year’s theme is ‘Count on Your Community’ and we’ll be joined by celebrity ambassadors, National Numeracy partners, schools and organisations around the UK for the campaign, which runs 2-8 November.

A person smiling and holding a calendar with the dates 2 to 8 November circled, text reads: "National Numeracy Number Confidence Week 2-8 November 2026"

We know that low number confidence affects millions of people, but it can help to build confidence with and from others who feel the same way as you.

Whatever your community, be it a book club, faith group, sports club or choir, a workplace or even an online space like a group chat, we’ve got plenty of fun and free resources to help build number confidence.

By starting a conversation around numbers in your community you may even be surprised to learn you’re not the only one who feels a certain way about maths!

And by building number confidence, we are helping wider communities to thrive, being able to use the maths we need in our everyday lives.

What’s on during Number Confidence Week?

There’s lots you can join in with throughout the week, whether you’re an individual, school, workplace or organisation:

  • Monday: National Numeracy’s brand new ambassador will be announced! They’ll be joining our amazing ambassador line up and using their experience and expertise to help the nation build number confidence and skills in a fun and relatable way.
  • Tuesday: ‘What's maths got to do with it?': Financial content creator and National Numeracy Ambassador Rotimi Merriman-Johnson, AKA Mr MoneyJar, is hitting the streets of London to show how numeracy is used in different jobs. The videos are great conversation starters for secondary school pupils, connecting maths with life beyond the classroom and showing young people why it matters for their future. Sign up for free access here.
  • Tuesday: NRICH webinar: Maths at Home: Talking about numbers together. A free webinar for parents, carers and teachers of children aged five to 13. Part of the University of Cambridge, NRICH’s curriculum-linked mathematics resources focus on problem-solving, to help all students become more curious, resourceful and confident learners. Liz and Charlie from NRICH will be hosting a relaxed and friendly webinar exploring how engaging activities and everyday conversations can help children develop positive attitudes towards maths and showing that you don’t need to be confident at maths to help your child develop a love of numbers. Register for the webinar here.
  • Wednesday: ‘Could it be dyscalculia?’ with Iona Bain and Cat Eadle. Have you always found numbers difficult? Perhaps your child struggles with maths, and you’re wondering why. Join National Numeracy Ambassador Iona Bain, who has dyscalculia, and Cat Eadle, co-founder of the Dyscalculia Network, for a warm, insightful conversation about what life with dyscalculia can feel like. Together, they’ll unpack the signs to look out for, explore common questions and talk about the support available for adults and children. Sign up for free access here.
  • Friday: Numbers and television with Katya Jones. Professional dancer and National Numeracy Ambassador Katya Jones will be taking to social media to show just some of the ways numbers are used when creating top TV. You may be surprised!

Also: Throughout the week our social media channels will be buzzing with celebrity collabs, inspiring real-life stories from some of our incredible beneficiaries and posts from fabulous influencer friends of National Numeracy. Look out too for media activity from our fantastic celebrity ambassadors.

Don’t worry if you miss anything during Number Confidence Week itself as the activities and resources will be available to catch up on afterwards.
