Join in with Number Confidence Week around the UK

Number Confidence Week is back from 6 to 10 November to help everyone feel more confident about everyday maths – and there are lots of ways to get involved around the country this November!

Some of the areas and organisations hosting events around the UK this November include:

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority

TCHC are hosting a week of events with the Magic of Numbers – this will launch on 6 November with various stalls and activities, and an in-person Confidence with Numbers session run by National Numeracy. There will also be confidence conversations with tutors, and opportunities to hear about Multiply and courses to help you take the first step towards number confidence.

Steadfast Training will have trained Numeracy Champions supporting learners with Time to Talk number chats.

Shaw Trust will have trained Numeracy Champions running a fun numeracy quiz to get everyone taking the time to talk numbers!

Runway Training have been on tour across Cambridge and Peterborough with Mia, the double-decker Multiply bus! Taking support and advice on the road, keep a look out for their next stop – including a family budgeting course on 10 November and Functional Skills on 27 November.

Capital City College Group

Capital City College Group will be having Confidence Conversations across their provision to support Every Londoner Counts.

Gloucestershire County Council and South Tyneside Council

Gloucestershire County Council and South Tyneside Council will be joining National Numeracy's Confidence with Numbers session on 9 November, 12pm – 1pm to boost number confidence for residents.

Leicestershire County Council

Residents can find Rural Coffee Connect on tour with Coffee and Confidence conversations across the whole week, in a different location each day. Drinks are served completely free of charge! Find them at:

  • Barsby Village Green on 7 November, 10am – 11:30pm
  • Asfordby Village Hall on 8 November, 10am – 12pm
  • Rutland on 8 November, 11am – 3pm
  • The Mental Health Café at Syston Community Centre on 9 November, 12am to 3pm

Leicestershire County Council are also hosting a Multiply Leicestershire showcase event on 7 November from 10am – 12pm in the Members Lounge at Leicestershire County Hall. Councillor Mrs Christine Radford CC will open the event and Leicestershire County Council, Community Providers and Further Education Providers will be showcasing the wonderful work happening across the country under the Multiply programme, aimed at improving number confidence. There will also be opportunities to “just take 10” and try the National Numeracy Challenge.

Falcon Support Services are holding Number Confidence Drop-in Sessions – meet their Multiply numeracy coach and chat about your feelings towards numeracy and how to get positive with numbers. Falcon will be helping people register on the National Numeracy Challenge, take a quick check, and start their journey towards number confidence! Find them at:

  • George Smith Hub, Hotel Street, Coalville on 6 November 11am – 3pm (public event)
  • Falcon Centre Drop In, Pinfold Gate, Loughborough on 8 November 12pm – 2pm (in-service event)

Lincolnshire Co-operative

Lincolnshire Co-operative will be holding Number Confidence Conversations with colleagues supported by their network of trained Numeracy Champions – and have even set up a “brain training challenge” using Nintendo Switches across their different business areas! 

Tower Hamlets Council

Tower Hamlets Council will be hosting Number Confidence events on 6 November and 8 November across their Idea Stores. Idea Store will be inviting residents to learn new skills and develop their knowledge in number confidence with fun activities, stalls, conversations, and information about Multiply programmes.

Wiltshire Council

Wiltshire Council is hosting two Multiply roadshows, taking place on 8 November in Melksham, and 10 November in Trowbridge. Providers across their Multiply programme will have stands and fun activities, as well as talking about all things numeracy and their provisions to support confidence and skills.

Number Confidence Week is run by the independent charity National Numeracy, and takes place from 6 to 10 November.
