National Numeracy’s new everyday maths app caused a buzz at The Skills Show last week as it inspired thousands of young visitors to explore everyday maths through gaming.
Star Dash Studios is a free game which encourages 16-25 year-olds to practise their number skills and appreciate the value of everyday maths in the workplace and sign-posts them to ways to learn. Young visitors were enthusiastic about the game, seeing it as a new way to practise their maths outside the classroom and many took the opportunity to play it and download it there and then.
Star Dash Studios was launched in October and has been downloaded by over 15,000 people so far. See the photos on our Facebook gallery
